Probably the only social platform that’s actually used for honest-to-goodness networking, LinkedIn, is getting a long overdue revamp. The primary areas that will be getting the facelift are site pages and the newsfeed. The Microsoft business partner will showcase a much more responsive design aimed at increasing the already $2 billion in revenue from the media business.

Touted by Tomer Cohen, LinkedIn’s Vice President of Products, as being redesigned from scratch, the overall user experience with Pages will be completely new. Boasting over 30 million businesses and brands across the LinkedIn platform, the updates will continue to drive networking within industries as well as out-of-network collaborations.

LinkedIn's new look allows for greater connection and faster growth throughout the site.

Along the same note, LinkedIn also revealed that their strategic partnership with Hootsuite will see expanded development as they work to make the site more social-friendly.

Hootsuite worked closely with LinkedIn Marketing Solutions to make it easier for our customers to drive engagement and succeed with social on LinkedIn. As a strategic partner of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, we’re thrilled to be the first social media management platform to build off LinkedIn’s Notifications API to deliver added value to our customers.

This move focuses on the more than 590 million personal users on LinkedIn, and allows them to better connect with business opportunities, job searches, and stay connected with brands and companies.

Effective today, customers will also be able to leverage this enhanced product integration to schedule and publish video directly from Hootsuite and directly @mention Pages in LinkedIn posts to encourage audiences to engage with their company and tagged partners—all within a new streamlined re-authentication process. And coming later this month, Hootsuite Professional, Team, Business and Enterprise customers will be able to monitor what audiences are saying about their LinkedIn content and respond to public comments on posts through Hootsuite.
